titleOfInvention | Improvements relating to water spray systems |
abstract | The invention relates to a water spray system for aircraft, which comprises several jet emission nozzles (6 ', 6' ', 6' '') distributed throughout the passenger cabin of the aircraft and coupled to a water tank (1). A source of pyrotechnic gas (5) is used to pressurize the water stored in the tank (1). The system can consist of several subsystems, which are each associated with a respective section of the aircraft cabin and which can be operated independently of each other. The pyrotechnic gas source (5) can be actuated by a control signal (IO) produced by a control unit (8) in response to different input signals and the water tank or each water tank is equipped a drain valve (11) for draining water from the tank in the event that the system is inadvertently activated. The jet emission nozzles can operate in different modes and can be directed so as to increase the residence time of the water droplets in an upper part (U) of the cabin. The system cannot be coupled to an external power source using a penetrating projectile launched from a remote location. |
