titleOfInvention | Apparatus for transcranial electrotherapy |
abstract | An electrode for carrying out transcranial electrotherapy, especially by the lobes of a patient's ears, comprises an electrical conductor for application to the skin, connected to a cable transporting the signal (TCET) from a signal generator device, characterized in that the conductor has a generally conical needle capable of penetrating the epidermis to ensure good electrical contact over a very small area. The electrode can be used with an impedance of less than 100 kOMEGA. It can also be used with an apparatus for generating an electrical signal intended for TCET, suitable for supplying a signal with a current of less than 200mu (0.2 mA), especially when it is adapted for supplying an AC signal in wherein each positive pulse is relatively short and high, without being sharp, and wherein the next negative pulse is relatively wide and low, the total value of the positive and negative charges being balanced. Methods of TCET treatment are also described using said electrode and its apparatus. |
