titleOfInvention Method of inhibiting parasitic activity
abstract A method of inhibiting parasitic activity is ndisclosed in which the biosynthesis of the glycosyl nphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor of said parasite is ninhibited by incorporating into said GPI anchor an oxy-substituted nfatty acid analog in place of myristate. nThe inhibitory compounds are Cā‚ā‚ƒ and Cā‚ā‚„ fatty acids or nalkyl esters thereof in which a methylene group normally nin carbon position 4 to 13 of said fatty acid is nreplaced with oxygen.
