Described is a method of preparation of fluorobenzenes with at least one hydrogen atom substituted on the ring and, optionally, other substituents which, independently of each other, can be chlorine, bromine, nitro, hydroxy, C1-C3 alkoxy or C1-C3 alkyl, the number of nitro groups being not more than 2 and the number of hydroxy and alkoxy groups being not more than 3. Preparation is by heating the appropriate benzaldehyde, substituted with at least one fluorine atom, in the presence of a catalyst, and is characterized by the fact that the reaction product is separated directly from the reaction zone. |
