In a one-step process for the production of alkylglycosides and alkylpolyglycosides from saccharides and alcohols with 12 to 20 carbon atoms by acid catalytic reaction in the presence of sodium hypophosphite, color-improved products are produced by adding saccharide and alcohol in a molar ratio of 1: 5 to 1:10 uses and neutralized with alcoholic alkali hydroxide. |
