abstract |
In order to remove, for example, nitrates from water in a limited contact time, the water is mixed with small particles of ion exchange resin in a tank (1) in order to form a suspension whose concentration is between 1.25 and 5% by weight. The opening of the particle mesh is for example between 5 mm and 0.5 mm. The suspension passes from the reservoir (1) to a cross-flow filter unit (3) in which the treated water is separated by filtration at (4). During the contact time in the tank (1) and in the piping, the nitrate content of the water is significantly reduced. The ion exchange resin returns to the tank (1) and can be recycled about four times on average. Part of the suspension is drawn off, regenerated and recycled to the tank (1). |
