To remove phosgene from exhaust gases, this is washed out with a liquid in a wash-out zone, the compounds of the general formula contains or consists of these in which R₁ and R₂ have the same or different meaning and represent aliphatic or cycloaliphatic alkyl radicals having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or R₁ and R₂ represent the grouping - (CH₂) n -, in which n is 4 or 5, R₃ represents hydrogen or an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or R₁ or R₂ and R₃ stand for the grouping - (CH₂) m -, in which m is 3, 4 or 5.n n n The liquid can be regenerated by adding water and the regenerated liquid can be returned to the washout zone. |
