titleOfInvention Process for the dehydratation of a mixture of propargylalcohol and water
abstract 2.1 An auxiliary liquid is usually used as an entrainer for dewatering PAAnin distillation or as a solvent in extractionnused. The known auxiliary liquids require an increasedntechnical effort, are difficult to access or proceduralnquestionable. The new process is intended to provide auxiliary fluidsnthe easily accessible and technically easy to usenand with which the PAA is practically anhydrous and free ofnAuxiliary fluid can be obtained.n n n 2.2 In the process according to the invention, an ether - such as 3-methyltetrahydropyran,nMethyl tertiary butyl ether or diisopropyl ether - asnAuxiliary liquid used; one and the same ether is preferrednused both for extraction and as an azeotropic entrainer.nThe PAA is practically free of water and auxiliary liquidnwon. The water contains only small amounts of PAA and auxiliary liquid;nthe auxiliary liquid contains only small amounts of PAAnand water.n n n 2.3 The process is used to obtain anhydrous PAA.
