abstract The nucleic acid probe presented comprises a probe polynucleotide, a charged hapten marker and a binding moiety. The protein probe includes a probe protein, a charged hapten tag and a binding moiety. The charged hapten label joined to the linker moiety may include a negatively charged sulfophenylhydrazine labeling compound. Polyclonal antibodies and monoclonal antibodies having a specific affinity for the charged hapten markers are presented as well as hybridomas which can constitute the monoclonal antibodies. The invention also provides methods and kits for constituting the nucleic acid probes, for constituting the protein probes, for detecting a nucleic acid probe capture polynucleotide and for detecting a protein probe capture molecule.
