abstract |
A method of forming a cyan dye image in an exposed silver halide color photographic material comprising a support and a photosensitive silver halide emulsion, said method comprising developing the exposed silver halide color photographic material with a color developing solution containing an aromatic primary amine color developing agent in the presence of a cyan coupler represented by formula (I):n n wherein EWG₁ and EWG₂ each represents an electron attractive group having a Hammett's substituent constant σ p value of at least 0.30 or; nR₁ represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; nR₂ represents a substituent; nX represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of splitting off by a coupling reaction with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent; nR₁ and R₂ may be bonded to each other to form a ring; provided that R₂ must not be a halogen atom; and a silver halide color photographic material containing the cyan dye forming coupler. |
