The invention relates to a composition comprising: (A) a large amount of a fluorine-containing hydrocarbon containing one or two carbon atoms, and (B) a small amount of a phosphorus-containing composition comprising at least a compound characterized by the formula (1) or (2), wherein R1 and R2 each independently represent hydrocarbyl groups or hydrocarbyloxyalkylene groups and R1 and R2 together have a total of 2 to about 24 carbon atoms, excluding oxyalkylene carbon atoms; a is 0 or 1; b is 1 or 2; c is 1, 2 or 3; d is 0, 1 or 2, provided that c + d = 3; when b is equal to 1, Z is chosen from the group consisting of -R5, -XR5, -N (H) R5, -N (R5) 2, -C (X) R5, -CN, -S (O) R5, -S (O) 2R5, -S (O) 2N (R3) (R4) and (alpha); when b is 2, Z represents -N (R5) -, X represents oxygen or sulfur; Y represents a hydrocarbylene group having 1 to about 20 carbon atoms; R5 represents a hydrocarbyl group having 1 to about 18 carbon atoms; R3 and R4 each independently represent hydrogen; or a hydrocarbyl group having 1 to about 24 carbon atoms; or R3 and R4 together form a closed heterocyclic chain. The invention relates to compositions which can be used as coolants in refrigerators and air conditioners such as air conditioners for cars, air conditioners for household use and air conditioners for industrial use. The invention relates to phosphorus-containing compositions which are compatible with fluorine-containing hydrocarbons used in refrigerators and air conditioners. Phosphorus content compositions serve as a lubricant additive for air conditioners. |
