abstract |
An ingestable medicament tape composition comprising: nabout 10-40 weight % of a physiologically acceptabel thermoplastic polymer; nabout 15-50 weight % of a polysaccharide; nabout 5-40 weight % of a compartible physiologically acceplable plasticizer; and nabout 0-20 weight % of a physiologically acceptable humectant. n An automatic drug tape dispensing and metering device and a disposable cassette (2) containing a roll (6) of drug tape housed in a small reusable dispenser unit (4) is also discribed. The dispenser containes a measurment device for carefully measuring the length of tape as it is dispensed. As the lid (8) of the dispenser unit is opened, the measured length of drug tape is served from the roll by a cutter blade (10) incorporated into the lid. The dosage and administration of the medicament to be given a patient may be set by adjusting the tape length released for each single dose and selecting the time intervals between dosages. |
