titleOfInvention | Method of preparing n-alkyl-haloanilines |
abstract | The invention concerns a method of preparation of N-alkyl-haloanilines of formula (I), in which X is chlorine or bromine and n is 1 or 2, R1 is a (C¿1?-C4) alkyl residue, R?2¿ is a (C¿1?-C6) alkyl residue or R?1 and R2¿ form, together with the carbon atom, a five- or six-membered cycloalkane ring, by reacting a halonitrobenzene of formula (II), in which X and n are as defined above, with at least the stoichiometric amount of a carbonyl compound of formula (III), in which R?1 and R2¿ are as defined above or R?1 and R2¿ form, together with the carbon atom of the carbonyl group, a five- or six-membered cycloalkane ring, in an inert organic solvent at a temperature between about 10 and about 100°C in an atmosphere of hydrogen at an overpressure between about 0 and about 50 bar, in the presence of a platinum catalyst on activated charcoal. |
