This invention includes a process of purifying a novel, intracellular phospholipase A₂ with an approximate molecular weight of 100,000 daltons. The invention also contains the novel PLA₂ enzyme and provides a partial amino acid sequence. The claimed PLa₂ is a useful tool for developing medicinally important anti-inflammatory and anti-ischemic drugs. |
