HEMOGLOBIN COMPOSITION AND THEIR USE. |
abstract |
Disclosed is a stroma-free hemoglobin composition having an advantageous combination of properties for use as a universally applicable blood plasma expanding agent etc, such as an oxygen affinity value desired, a desired vascular retention time and the absence of toxic side effects. Said composition comprises human hemoglobin cross-linked intramolecularly via beta chains, and polymerized. 2-nor-2 formylpyridoxal 5-phosphate or a bis-pyridoxal polyphosphate is preferably used for the intramolecular crosslinking via the beta chains, and glutaraldehyde is used for the polymerization of hemoglobin. |
