titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR PRODUCING 1-FLUOR-GLYCORONIC ACIDS AND THEIR SALTS, AND SUCH NEW 1-FLUOR-GLYCURONIC ACIDS AND THEIR SALTS. |
abstract | According to a process for producing 1-fluoroglycuronic acids, which may contain protected amine groups, and their salts, glycopyranosylfluorides of monosaccharides or oligosaccharides, carrying at least one primary OH function, are oxidized in an aqueous solution at pH between 6 and 9, with oxygen as oxidant, in the presence of a catalyst which contains at least one metal of the platinum group, then the 1-fluoroglycuronic acids thus obtained are at least partially neutralized. The invention further relates to compounds having the general formula (I), in which M represents hydrogen or a cation, in particular of an alkali metal, and X represents oxygen or NH. When X represents oxygen, R is hydrogen or a glycosidically linked monosaccharide and when X represents NH, R is a residue of an acyl, alkyl, aryl or aralkyl protecting group having up to 10 carbon atoms, provided that only one RX group has a different meaning of OH. |
