abstract | The method described, which is used for coating metal pipes, consists in heating the pipe to a temperature of at least 200 ° C. and in applying to the external surface of the pipe thus heated a composition based on epoxy resin having a thickness of at least 300 microns. Before the complete vulcanization of the composition based on epoxy resin, but preferably before its gelation, a coating of modified polyolefin is applied to a thickness of at least 300 microns. The modified polyolefin consists of a homopolymer of a copolymer of alpha-olefins of hydrocarbons having 2 to 10 carbon atoms and having been modified by grafting using an anhydride or an organic carboxylic acid not saturated with ethylene . The resulting coating is resistant to impact and to cathodic takeoff. The pipe thus coated can be used in buried pipes of the type used in the petroleum industry. |
