| abstract |
Decoder for HD-MAC television comprising a 40 ms decoding bypass (16-27) as well as an 80 ms decoding bypass (38). In principle, the decoding of the 80 ms mode blocks requires samples from four 80 ms mode blocks received in succession. A decoder for HD-MAC television can operate with only three field memories (FM1-FM3) if, during time changes of modes in which a sequence of mode blocks 80 ms is followed or preceded by mode blocks not 80 ms , the missing samples required by the 80 ms decoder (38) are obtained at the output of the 40 ms decoder (16-27) using appropriate switching of a switch (30). |
