titleOfInvention Aqueous N-methylmorpholine N-oxide solution of cellulose
abstract The intention is to reduce the discoloration of cellulose and the breakdown of N-methylmorpholine N-oxide (NMMO) occurring on preparation and heating of a solution of cellulose in water and NMMO. This is achieved according to the invention by the solution containing 0.01 to 1%, preferably 0.1%, of H2O2 and 0.01 to 2%, preferably 0.1%, of a stabiliser for H2O2, preferably oxalic acid or salts thereof.
