Porous article, for example, a membrane comprising a hydrophobic porous polymer body, the surfaces of which, including the surfaces in the pores, fully incorporates a hydrophilic polymer which has been co-precipitated with the hydrophobic polymer under conditions such that substantially all of the hydrophilic polymer found on said surface, thus presenting a hydrophilic surface to the entire hydrophobic body. The porous article may be a membrane, to be used in particular as a dressing. Adhesives for dressings are also disclosed. |
