The present invention relates to a mixture composed of a metal oxide, such as silicon oxide, and phosphazene ether. The composite of the present invention optionally contains a salt for antistatic coatings. The composition of the present invention is obtained by preparing solutions of ether phosphazene and an alkoxysilane, such as tetraethoxysilane. These solutions are deposited, to form a coating, on suitable substrates or on cast films and are vulcanized at room temperature or at a moderate heating temperature. The coatings and films thus produced are transparent, resistant, hard and flexible. They are made up of multi-component mixtures of silicon oxide and phosphazene. The present invention also relates to the formation of mixtures with oxides of a metal other than silicon, such as in particular titanium, aluminum or zirconium. The composite can be doped with low reticular energy salts to form antistatic composites. |
