abstract A welding process has been developed which does not require the use of pickling agents, hydrogen, high temperatures or laser excitation or spraying techniques. The process involves excitation of the plasma to remove solder filler metal surface oxides, thereby effectively and efficiently eliminating post-weld cleaning, which improves the quality and to produce a reliable long-term brazed junction. In addition, the serious problems posed by pollution of the environment by cleaning solvents are avoided.
