The photographic material contains a magenta coupler of the formula M-I and a yellow coupler, and the content of calcium atoms in the photographic layers is not more than 15 mg/m².n n wherein Z represents a group of nonmetal atoms necessary to form a nitrogen-containing heterocycle, which may have a substituent; X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being split off upon reaction with an oxidized product of a color developing agent; and R represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent.
