abstract A process that enhances the palatability of a dry livestock feed includes applying an approximately 73-85% sucrose solution to a dry pelletized feed to obtain a substantially uniformly coated pellet having a maximum sucrose content of about 6% by weight. The sucrose solution is applied while the coated feed is in an agitated state. The pellet is kept agitated until the coating hardens thereby producing a free flowing coated product.
