abstract | A polyalkylene terephthalate resin composition having excellent vibration damping properties and high rigidity and comprising a resin component composed of (A) 60 to 97 wt.% of a polyalkylene terephthalate resin and (B) 40 to 3 wt.% of at least one polymer selected from liquid-crystal polyester resins and acrylic resins, and (C) 5 to 60 wt.%, per total weight of the composition, of a glass fiber having a flat section wherein the ratio of the major diameter (the longest distance across the section) to the minor diameter (the distance in a direction perpendicular to the major diameter) in the section perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the fiber ranges from 1.5 to 5. The molded articles thereof are useful as the vibration damping parts of automobiles and office automation appliances. |
