abstract |
A process for producing 4,4'-diisopropylbiphenyl by the reaction of propylene with biphenyl containing at most 1 % of sulfur or a mixture thereof with isopropylbiphenyl in the presence of water and either a hydrated, type H mordenite zeolite catalyst with a molar ratio of SiO2 to Al2O3 of at least 15 or a hydrated mordenite zeolite catalyst prepared by the ion exchange reaction of a type H mordenite zeolite catalyst with platinum. |
