abstract Compounds of formula (I), in which the ring B represents a pyridine, pyridazine, pyrimidine or pyrazine moiety; X represents phenylene optionally supporting a substituent chosen from alkyl containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, halo, trifluoromethyl, cyano and nitro, or X represents a direct bond between adjacent phenyl and methylene groups; Z represents 1 H-tetrazol-5-yl, -CO.NH. (1 H-tetrazol-5-yl) or a group of the formula -CO.OR6 or -CO.NH.SO2R7. The compounds are effective in the treatment of conditions such as hypertension and heart failure. The invention also relates to methods of making the new compounds, as well as their use in medical treatment.
