abstract | Polyimide and polyketone thermoplastic elastomers have high thermal resistance, as well as high resistance to fuels, oils and chemicals. These elastomers are particularly useful in the automotive industry, where they can be used to mold hydraulic hoses, pulleys, brackets, engine mounts and the like. A thermoplastic polymer comprises repeating units having the formulas (I), (II), (III) or (IV), in which LG is a linking group and W is an oligomer chain selected from the group consisting of polyether, a polythioether, polycarbonyl or polysulfonyl, or one of their copolymers. |
