An oxide superconductor comprising yttrium, barium, copper and oxygen as major components and 0.1 to 5% by weight of platinum and/or palladium and having a critical temperature at which electrical resistance becomes zero of 77 K or higher with slight lowering in a high critical current density (Jc) in a magnetic field, can be produced by mixing raw materials containing these elements, and molding and firing the resulting mixture. |
