abstract | A silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one photosensitive emulsion layer comprising a DIR coupler which is represented by general formula (I) below and a compound which is represented by general formula (R-1) below;n wherein A represents a coupler residual group, n represents an integer of 0 or 1 with the proviso that when A represents a phenol type or naphthol type coupler residual group then n is 1, and when A represents some other coupler residual group then n is 0, and R represents an alkyl group which has from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a pyridyl group;n wherein A represents a group which reacts with the oxidized form of the developing agent and cleaves (L 1 )v-B-(L 2 ) w -INH-HYD, L represents a group which cleaves the bond with B after cleavage of the bond with A, B represents a group which reacts with the oxidized form of a developing agent and cleaves (L 2 ) w -INH-HYD, L 2 represents a group which cleaves INH-HYD after cleavage of the bond with B, INH represents a group which has a development inhibiting capacity, HYD represents an alkoxycarbonyl group or a group which contains an alkoxycarbonyl group, v and w each represent an integer of value from 0 to 2, and when they represent 2, the two L 1 and the two L 2 groups may be the same or different. |
