titleOfInvention | Immobilized sequence-specific probes |
abstract | An improved nucleic acid hybridization titration reagent capable of binding a nucleic acid having a selected target sequence comprises a solid support matrix to which oligonucleotide probes are attached via a spacer arm. In a preferred embodiment, the solid support comprises reactive amino groups capable of binding nucleotides exposed to UV radiation in an oligonucleotide probe, which comprises a hybridization region complementary to a target sequence to be detected as well as a binding tail composed of nucleotides, one or more of which are covalently bound to the reactive groups of said support. |
