The present invention relates, as new industrial products, to the sulfonyl-phenyl-β-D-thioxyloside compounds of formula: in which : X represents a sulfur atom or an oxygen atom, R represents a C₁-C₄ alkyl group, a substituted amino group NR₁R₂ (where R₁ and R₂, identical or different, each represent a C₁-C₄ alkyl group, R₁ and R₂ considered together which may form with the nitrogen atom to which they are linked a piperidinyl or morpholinyl group) or a phenyl group optionally substituted in the para position by a cyano group or by a halogen atom; and, Y represents the hydrogen atom or an aliphatic acyl group. n n n These compounds are useful in therapy, in particular as venous antithrombotic agents.
