abstract | The invention relates to a process for the synthesis of saturated carboxylic esters from alkyl formate and an olefin, without substantial presence of carbon monoxide, at a temperature of 120-280 ° C, under a pressure of 1 -3000 bars, in the presence of a ruthenium-based catalyst coordinated by ligands chosen from carbon monoxide, halogen atoms and amines, and in the presence of an amide as solvent. Said catalyst is chosen from catalysts consisting essentially of RuCl₃, 3H₂O; catalysts essentially consisting of the combination of a RuCl₃, 3H₂O associated with at least one stabilizer chosen from iodine, covalent iodides and quaternary ammonium halides; catalysts comprising Ru₃ (CO) ₁₂ associated with at least one stabilizer as mentioned above; and the catalysts chosen from RuI₃, [RuCl₂ (CO) ₃] 2, Ru (NH₃) ₆Cl₃ and [Ru (NH₃) ₅Cl] Cl₂, optionally also comprising at least one stabilizer as mentioned above. |
