There is disclosed a thiocarbamoylacetonitrile compound represented by the formula:n n wherein R¹ represents hydrogen, a C₁ to C₆ alkyl, a C₃ to C₆ cycloalkyl or -(CH₂) n -A (where A represents a C₆ to C₁₂ aryl, a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic group or a fused heterocyclic group constituted by 9 or 10 atoms, each of which may be substituted by at least one selected from a C₁ to C₆ alkyl and a halogen, and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 6), R² represents a C₁ to C₁₀ alkyl, and Ar represents an aryl, a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic group or a fused heterocyclic group, each of which may be substituted by at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of a C₁ to C₆ alkyl, a C₁ to C₆ alkoxy, a C₂ to C₇ alkylcarbonyl, a C₇ to C₁₃ arylcarbonyl, a C₁ to C₆ alkylamino, a C₂ to C₆ dialkylamino, amino, formylamino, a C₂ to C₇ alkylcarbonylamino, a halogen, cyano, nitro, hydroxyl, a C₁ to C₆ alkylthio, a C₆ to C₁₂ arylthio, a C₁ to C₆ alkylsulfinyl, a C₆ to C₁₂ arylsulfinyl, a C₁ to C₆ alkylsulfonyl, a C₆ to C₁₂ arylsulfonyl, aminosulfonyl, a C₁ to C₆ alkylaminosulfonyl, a C₂ to C₆ dialkylaminosulfonyl, trifluoromethyl and imidazolyl. |
