titleOfInvention Preparation of metallised azo pigments
abstract A process for the preparation of a metallized azo pigment of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R and R1 independently of one another are hydrogen, halogen or alkyl, X1 SO3 <⊖> or CO2 <⊖> and M is Ca, Sr, Mn or Ba, by coupling a diazotized amine Formula <IMAGE> in which R, R1 and X1 have the meaning given above, with a coupling component of the formula <IMAGE> at a pH below 7.0 to an azo dye of the formula <IMAGE> in which R, R1 and X1 have the meaning given above and Y represents an alkali metal or ammonium and laking the dye of the formula IV during or after its preparation with one or different salts of a metal M, where M has the meaning given above. A new crystal modification of the azo pigment of formula I is also described.
