A method is proposed for producing a thermosetting molding compound made of glass fiber-polyester composite, in particular SMC, BMC or DMC. Waste parts 1 made of pressed SMC, BMC or DMC are crushed in a striking mechanism 3, the glass fiber-polyester composite structure breaking open mechanically. The glass fibers thus recovered are separated from the powdery recycling fraction in a vibrating sieve 5 and subjected to a special surface treatment. Wetting agents are added to the powdery recycling fraction.n n n In the production of new thermosetting molding compound, the powdery recycling fraction obtained is incorporated into the resin paste as a recycling filler. The recycled glass fibers largely replace the otherwise required original glass fibers.n n n Recycled SMC made using the waste parts process contains up to 40% recovered powdery recycling fraction and up to 40% recycled glass fiber. The molded parts pressed from this recycling SMC have almost the same good technical properties as molded parts made from original SMC. |
