titleOfInvention Inductive sensor and device for measuring displacements of a movable object
abstract The invention makes it possible to detect and measure the movement of a movable member (50) through a non-magnetic or low permeability metal wall.n n n Installation requires targets made of ferromagnetic material placed at regular intervals on the movable member. The sensor is placed opposite the movable member by its detection face (16). It comprises two ferromagnetic cores (2, 8) surrounded by both an excitation winding (4) and a measurement winding (10), at the terminals of which the measurement signal is taken. This is proportional to the variable reluctance of the magnetic circuit, which varies depending on the position of the ferromagnetic targets (48). A balancing core (34) completes the sensor.n n n Application to the measurement of the displacement of control rods in the tank of a pressurized water nuclear reactor.
