A film for a thermal transfer ink ribbon having excellent heat stick resistance, which comprises a base film made of a biaxially stretched thermoplastic resin film and a thermally meltable ink layer or a thermally sublimable ink layer formed on one side of the base film, wherein a thin layer composed of (A) a thermally reactive urethane prepolymer, (B) a fluorine-type polymer resin having a perfluoroalkyl group in its molecule, (C) a silicon-type compound having a hydroxyl group at each terminal of a dimethylpolysiloxane group, and (D) a polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree of at least 96 mol% and/or water-soluble starch, is formed on the other side of the base film at a rate of 0.05 to 0.5 g/m² as the total solid content of (A), (B), (C) and (D). |
