titleOfInvention | Cooling device |
abstract | A cooling device for cooling a pivotable detector is constructed with a first cooler (40) for cooling the detector (80), the first cooler (40) having a relaxation outlet (52) through which argon, which is pre-cooled below its inversion point, is under pressure Cooling is relaxed, and a second cooler (42) working with methane, through which a precooling of the argon can be achieved. The second cooler (42) is a Joule-Thomson cooler with an expansion outlet (72), via which the pressurized methane is expanded while cooling, and with a counterflow heat exchanger (66) upstream of the expansion outlet (72), through which the supplied methane can be precooled from the cooled, relaxed methane. The first cooler (40), on the other hand, is an expansion cooler with an expansion outlet (52) and a heat exchanger (51) upstream of the expansion outlet (52), in which the pressurized argon is only in heat exchange with the expanded and cooled methane. The argon emerging from the expansion outlet (52) of the first cooler (40), expanded and cooled to its boiling point, is directed against the object (80) to be cooled. |
