titleOfInvention Apparatus for evaluating multiple test strips
abstract Apparatus for evaluating multiple test strips (18). A conveying and positioning device (10) conveys the test strips (18) perpendicularly to their longitudinal direction from a test strip feed region (21) along a conveyance track (19) to a removal region (22). Arranged on the conveyance track (19) is at least one measuring station (50,51) incorporating an optical measuring unit (7,8). Extending along the conveyance track (19) are rails (20) on which the test strips (18) slide. The test strips (18) are conveyed in steps by at least two rows (15,16) of driver elements (17) which follow one another in the conveyance direction and which move synchronistically with one another in a periodically repeating movement path. n<??>A substantially easier handling can be achieved without adversely affecting the measurement accuracy if the rails (20) are formed as a longitudinal profiled section in a disposable conveyor insert (12) made of a thin plastic material, the driver elements (17) engage between the rails (20) of the conveyor insert (12) from above, a support element (11) is provided for the conveyor insert (12), which support element supports the conveyor insert (12) by means of a support surface (13) in a central region (23) situated between the test strip feed region (21) and the removal region (22) and a rigid contact-pressure element (60) is provided at the measuring station (50,51) at a specified distance from the optical measuring unit (7,8), against which contact-pressure element (60) the test strip is elastically pressed from underneath during measurement.
