An object, in particular watch strap, ballpoint pen housing, jewelry box, case for games, desk pad, belt, ball, ring-shaped object, such as a push loop, or the like, has at least one blank (2) made of leather or leather-like material and one with the blank (2 ) connected layer (1) made of plastic. The outline shape of the object to be manufactured corresponds to the outline shape of the blank (2). The layer (1) made of plastic is molded around the edges (5) of the blank (2). In order to make the object aesthetically appealing, particularly in its edge area, and to produce a satisfactory bond between the blank (2) and the layer (1) made of plastic, the layer (1) made of plastic is molded around the edges (5) of the blank (2) that the edges of the object are formed partly by the blank (2) and partly by the layer (1) made of plastic. The outer surface (4) of the blank (2) is flush with the outer surface (3) of the layer (1) made of plastic. |
