Ink composition containing a blend of a polyester and an acrylic polymer |
abstract |
A new mixture of a water-dissipating polyester material and an acrylic polymer is described. The acrylic polymer must be compatible with polyester and can optionally be styrenated. The polyester has, for example, an acid constituent composed of approximately 75 to approximately 84 mol% of isophthalic acid and conversely of approximately 25 to approximately 16 mol% of 5-sodiosulfoisophthalic acid, as well as a constituent glycol composed of from about 45 to about 60 mole% of diethylene glycol and conversely from about 55 to about 44 mole% of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol or of ethylene glycol or of their mixtures. Said polymer blends are useful for preparing ink compositions having improved block and water resistance. |
