titleOfInvention Method for taking a milk sample
abstract In the device for taking milk samples from a milk delivery line (1), the suction line (5) and the injection needle are used to remove any milk residues adhering to the upstream supplier in a suction line (5) and in an injection needle (6) before the current supplier takes a sample (6) filled with milk and emptied again after completely filling by pumping the milk back into the delivery line (1). The complete filling is monitored by a control means (9) which controls a peristaltic pump (7) in such a way that only the amount of milk required to fill the suction line (5) and the injection needle (6) is conveyed. Only after this filling and emptying process is the injection needle (6) inserted into a sampling bottle (8) arranged on a liftable plate (15). A hold-down device (16, 17, 18) ensures that the injection needle (6) is properly stripped from the sampling bottle (8) when the plate (15) is lowered at the end of the sampling. The device is characterized by the simple method with which residual milk can be removed from the suction line and the injection needle to prevent carry-over.
