titleOfInvention COLORIMETRIC DETERMINATION OF 2-BROMO-2-NITRO-1,3-PROPANDIOL OR ITS DERIVATIVES.
abstract The method described, which is used to titrate 2-bromo-2-nitro-1,3-propanediol or a derivative of this compound in a sample, consists in adding to the sample an agent which reacts with the diol or with its derivative to form a colored species, then to determine the presence and, if desired, the concentration of the species by colorimetric process. A titration kit for use in the titration of bronopol comprises three containers comprising an alkali, an acid and said agent, respectively.
