Renin inhibitory peptides containing a substituted phenoxyacetyle group |
abstract |
New peptides have been developed which are useful as renin inhibitors and which have a non-cleavable transition state insert corresponding to positions 10.11 of the renin substrate (angiotensinogen), as well as a fraction of mono or bisubstituted phenoxyacetic acid. corresponding to position 8 of the renin substrate. Renin inhibitors are useful for the diagnosis and treatment of renin dependent hypertension, congestive heart failure, renin dependent hyperaldosterism, other renin dependent cardiovascular disorders as well as eye disorders . These peptides are also useful as protease inhibitors of HIV-I. HIV-I protease inhibitors are useful for treating human acquired immunodeficiency disease (AIDS) syndrome. |
