abstract The invention relates to compounds of formula (I),n wherein nR¹ represents hydrogen or -CONHR , wherein nR represents hydrogen or alkyl, cycloalkyl, or carbocyclic aryl or carbocyclic aryl-alkyl optionally substituted on the aromatic ring by one or more halogen atoms, alkyl or alkoxy ; nR² represents ethynyl or acetyl ; nPh¹ and Ph², which may be the same or different, each represents phenyl unsubstituted or substituted by one or more halogen atoms, alkyl, alkoxy, or trihalomethyl or hydroxy optionally esterified by an alkanoic acid; and nn is 1 or 2, nand optical isomers and mixtures thereof and all acid addition and quaternary ammonium salts thereof, to pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds and processes for their preparation. n the compounds of formula (I) appear useful for the treatment of psychotic disorders, insomnia, mania, agitation, depression, anxiety, emesis, pain and dementia.
