abstract | The method described is used for the continuous drying of a material. The temperature of the material is set to a level below the boiling point of the material at atmospheric pressure. The material is conveyed into a vacuum chamber and conducted through the vacuum chamber without the addition of heat. The dried material is then removed through an air lock. Said method can be carried out by means of an assembly comprising a member for adjusting the temperature of the material, a conveying member (8, 10) for conveying the material into a vacuum chamber (12), a vacuum chamber , a transport member (112) for transporting the material through the vacuum chamber, as well as an air lock (24). Said method and said assembly are useful for drying materials which are sensitive and / or difficult to solidify. |
