A novel ophthalmic composition for decreasing intraocular pressure comprises an analog of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (GMP) which is more resistant to hydrolysis by phosphodiesterases than cyclic GMP. The preferred analog of cyclic GMP is 8-bromoguanosine 3′,5′-cyclic monophosphate. |
