abstract |
Described are dodeca-substituted derivatives of the macrocyclic tetramers obtainable by means of the acid-catalysed condensation of pyrogallol and formaldehyde, wherein the substituents are alkanoyl chains. n These substituted tetramers are optically anisotropic in the molten state and in particular show mesophases of pyramidal columnar type. |
