titleOfInvention Circuit for adapting the rates of two signals
abstract The circuit arrangement described to adapt thenBit rates of two signals are e.g. at plesiochronous Mulntiplexers needed to get the plesiochronous signalsna digital signal of the next higher hierarchy togethernto be quantified towards the same bit ratenbring. The circuit arrangement contains for this purposenan elastic memory (4) and a darning decisionncircuit (15, 16). So that a circuit arrangementnwith such characteristics for bit rates in the order of magnituden140 Mbit / s is usable and still predominantnin CMOS technology can be run withntel (11, 14) provided with which the bit clock of the firstnand the second signal in a ratio of 1: nnbecomes. Furthermore, a series-parallel converter (2)nBit groups of n serial bits of the first signal innBit groups of n parallel bits each grouped innthe elastic memory (4) registered and alsonbe read out of it again. The read out paralnAll bit groups are based on a controllable selection measurentrix (5) with n outputs, which contains meansnwith which n selected bits from more than one bit groupnare transmitted to the n outputs. The darning decisionnextension circuit (15, 16) controls the readout processnthe elastic memory (4) and the selection matrix (5)ndepending on their decisions.
